 Animal Crossing: Wild World
Ahh, nothing like catching bugs, is there? The Bug-Off will happen every third Sunday on the months June, July, August, and September. The Bug-Off will start at 12:00pm. After it is announced in game, you can go to the Town Hall plaza and see Tortimer standing outside. He is hosting the Bug-Off in this game and will tell you that if you catch the biggest and buggiest bug, you will win! If you do not have a net, Tortimer will gladly supply you with an old one that he has been keeping. The Bug-Off lasts until 6:00pm, so you have a full six hours to get your bugs turned into Tortimer! If you break your old record, you receive a piece of furniture. Once the tourney ends, Tortimer will post who won on the bulletin board and you will receive a letter from the mayor himself congratulating you with a trophy attached as a present.
If you need a complete list of bugs, see Bugs (ACWW).

The bugs are back, and so is the Bug-Off! The Bug-Off will occur on four out of the twelve months. These four months are where bugs are most plentiful; June, July, August, and September. It will start at noon sharp. This time, a chameleon named Nat will host the tournament because Tortimer is too busy this time. This time, the Bug-Off will run on a point system. If you need a net, talk to Nat to receive a free one and then start your bug hunting.
The lighter the bug is, the less points that you will accumulate. If the bug is big and heavy, it will score you numerous points. If you beat the previous record that day, Nat will give you a random item. The Bug-Off ends at 6:00pm and no bugs will be accepted later than the specified time. The winner of the contest will be posted on the bulletin board and the winner will be mailed a letter from Nat with the trophy for keepsakes.
- Try catching bugs earlier in the day, as not all bugs are available from 12:00pm - 6:00pm.
- There is only one trophy from the Bug-Off, the golden one.
- There are no second place prizes.
