[edit] Real Life

The Dorado that is portrayed in Animal Crossing is actually the Golden Dorado, which is not similar at all to a normal saltwater fish named Dorado as well. Generally, Golden Dorados are great hunters because of their sharp teeth and their powerful jaws. Golden Dorados vary in weight. Some may be as light as six pounds, while the largest recorded weight is sixty eight pounds. They live in South America, travel in tiny groups, and prey on other fish and sometimes birds.
