"The Great Wave off Kanagawa" is a woodblock print created in 1832 by Katsushika Hokusai. It is the first and probably most famous of a series of paintings. Copies of this painting can be found in famous musuems all over the world.
It depicts three boats fighting against the strong waves off the coast of Kanagawa.
