Friga (Japanese name: サブリナ, Sabrina) is a Snooty Penguin Villager who made her very first appearance in Animal Crossing (GCN), then later went on to appear in both Animal Crossing: Wild World, Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

[edit] Appearance

Friga has an odd colouration, light pink and dark blue. She wears make-up, she uses mascara, turquoise eye shadow and pink blush. The hair on her forehead is combed downwards. Her arms, well in her case, flippers are dark blue, like the back part of her body and is tipped pinked, like the front of her body. Her beak and feet are an orangey-yellow colour. Originally, she wears a Cozy Sweater.

[edit] Personality

As said, Friga is a snooty villager. She may often insult and look down on player and some villagers. Though, when player befriends with her she is very nice and cheery. She sometimes seems to be upset about not being able to fly, since she's a penguin as she says, "Nothing's more pitiful than a bird that can't fly. Oh, there are times when I wish I weren't one." Gwen also says this sometimes. When you enter Friga's home, she occasionally will tell the player to knock before entering. Friga loves white furniture, she will ask the player to get her some white furniture to add to the collection.

[edit] House

Just like many snooty villagers, Friga has an exquisite home, filled with mostly furniture from the Regal Series. She also has some clothes and accessories such as umbrellas, she has an Arched Window for her wallpaper and for her carpet she uses the Classic Carpet. The song she plays is K.K. Tango in every version of animal crossing that she appears in.

[edit] Name Meaning

Friga may be named from the word frigid that means cold, which suits Friga as she is a penguin and they are used to cold temperatures.

[edit] Trivia

  • Friga's character could've of been inspired from the Norse goddess Frigg, who is sometimes called Frigga. Friga's picture quote mentions a fortune cookie, in other words the future, and Frigg was able to tell the future.
  • From above, could lead to another reason why Friga has that name, because of the Norse goddess Frigg.
  • On the N64 version, the pink on her is much darker.
