[edit] Players

This is what your player says when you catch a Goldfish:

[edit] Animal Crossing

"I caught a goldfish! Worth it's weight Great."

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

"I caught a goldfish! Worth it's weight in... fish!"

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

"I caught a goldfish! There's gold in them there fish! (Not really)."

[edit] Menu

This is what the meny will say when you catch the Goldfish:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

A member of the carp family, it's bred for beauty. However, unlike carp, goldfish have no whiskers.

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

Selectively bred Crucian Carp, the majority of these were the result of mutations.

[edit] Museum

This is what Blathers will say when you donate this fish:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

"Hoo, in my youth, I once had a goldfish in my room. His name was Sir Blathers. Goldfish are actually quite sociable creatures, eh wot? At least they are when they're being fed, that is. Who can resist them?"

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

"Hoo now... Do you know how large goldfish can get? Well, they can grow up to... ONE FOOT LONG! The growth of a goldfish in a tank is inhibited by tank size, so you rarely see them that big, I'd imagine. Even so, our tanks here at the museum are spacious... so expect our new goldfish to make a BIG splash! ...Hoo now? Not at all funny, you say?"

[edit] Trivia

  • Goldfish aren't really made out of gold
  • The Goldfish was one of the very first fish to be domesticated.

[edit] Real Life

These small fish are relatives to the Carp family, and have been widely known fish since ancient China. These fish range from all sorts of colors; white, yellow, orange, red, brown, and black, and also range widely in size.
