Joy is one of the many Emotions that were first introduced in Animal Crossing (GCN) and then later appeared in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, which in these later installments could then be used by both the Player and CPUs through Dr. Shrunk(ACWW) and both Dr. Shrunk/Dr. Frillard(ACCF).
When the Joy Emotion is activated, the user happily rocks softly from side to side as differently-coloured flowers emerge from their head amidst airborne sparkles. The overall visual effect of this emotion is similar to Bashfulness in some ways.

Here's Dr. Shrunk's act from his stand-up routine entitled "Joy":
Thanks you! Thank you! And thanks to that special someone out there! I think you KNOW who you are! Dr. Shrunk is in the house!
I'm just bursting with joy up here today! Wanna know why? A visitor just complimented me! He said that my best joke...is when I tell NO joke!
The doctor is OUT!
