Knox (Japanese name: キンカク Kinkaku) is a male, chicken villager with a cranky personality. He made his very first appearance in Animal Crossing: City Folk and later reappeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Due to his Cranky preset, Knox can commonly seem intolerable of most things, such as sudden surprises and last-minute changes. But through this seemingly inflexible attitude, Knox actually makes it his mission to make the most out of life and stop to enjoy the little things at every oppurtunity, even if it's cleverly masked behind a wall of bitter complaining and a funny-looking knight getup. Upon first meeting, Knox will criticize the Player for their overly-energetic ways. Through enough tolerance, he will eventually accept the Player for who they are and begin treating them like a casual friend(or good aquaintance at least).
Knox bears a solid shade of neutral grey over the length of his body, overlayed by a layer of white at the ends of his wings and tail. He wears a large, gold-coloured knight's helmet on top of his head paired with a medieval-themed Travel T Shirt, which separates him from most Cranky villagers, mainly because the concept of a themed costume would likely belong to that of your average Peppy or Jock villager. Knox looks similar to Sterling due to the fact that he has armor, too.
 Name Meaning
"Knox" is a direct relation to Fort Knox, a gold depository, due to the fact that the interesting knight's helmet that this villager wears upon his head consists of a clear gold colouring.
