How to Catch
The Ladybug can only be found sitting on top of flowers which means to catch it you will have to risk killing the flower it is perched on. Also, if you get to close to the flower or swipe and miss the Ladybug it will fly away and you will lose your chance of catching it.
Player
This is what you player says when you catch a Ladybug:
Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Animal Crossing: City Folk
I caught a ladybug! S-so small! S-so cute!
Menu
When looking at the Ladybug in the bug menu it will say this:
Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Animal Crossing: City Folk
"Also called ladybirds or lady beetles, these help gardens by controlling pests."
Museum
If you donate this bug to the Museum, Blathers will say this:
Animal Crossing
"Ladybugs are one insect I thought might appeal to me. Then I made the grievous error of touching one. This vile fluid appeared from someplace and.. Oh, it was everywhere! Blech! Utterly appalling!"
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Animal Crossing: City Folk
"Mad as it sounds, I find a lone ladybug quite fetching... But they tend to cluster in cold weather. If you were to flip over a rock in winter, you might see the underside crawling with them... Such vileness! Bleeeech! The very thought gives me the quivers!"
Trivia
- Although in the wild you can find Ladybugs with various different patterns on their backs, Ladybugs in Animal Crossing only have one pattern.
Real Life
The Ladybug surprisingly has over 5,000 different species recorded. Although some species are considered pests, many people find Ladybugs very helpful because they kill bugs that are harmful to crops and vegetation. Ladybugs stay where there are aphids, as that is their main diet. They are a part of the beetles family.
