[edit] How to Catch

This bug is an extremely easy bug to catch, due to its common appearance and slow speed. The only thing to look at for, similar to the Grasshopper, don't allow it to hop off into the water. Besides that, this bug does not increase speed of movement, and is easily caught up to. Simple swing that net at the ground, and you've got it. This bug also doesn't just "disappear", either. If you miss the first swing, you've got some more chances.

[edit] Player

This is what you player says when you catch an Long Locust:

[edit] Animal Crossing

"I caught a longheaded locust! Why the long head? (Face...Whatever.)"

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

"I caught a long locust! Locust where? Here!"

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

I caught a long locust! Long time, no see?!

[edit] Menu

When looking at the Long Locust in the bug menu it will say this:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

The male makes a unique clicking sound in flight.

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

The name for this insect comes from its elongated head.

[edit] Museum

If you donate this bug to the Museum, Blathers will say this:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

"I feel I must inform you the female long locust is much larger than the male. As such, I suspect this one you brought is, in fact, a female specimen. I don't mind telling you, it's not only bigger in size, but in wretchedness, wot? Then again, I suppose the males are quite wretched enough in their own right"

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

"Female long locusts are a great deal bigger than their male counterparts. Of course, gender aside, these locusts are large in general, hence the name. I must say, regular locusts are rather creepy enough. Being longer simply makes these ones even creepier"

[edit] Trivia

  • The long Locust is one of the few bugs in the game that differs in their months that they are available to catch. In Wild World, it is August to November and in City Folk, it is only available to catch in Spring.

[edit] Real Life
