The Mario Theme is a very special theme indeed. It features widely known pieces from the "Mario" Franchise. It can be obtained in all three Animal Crossing games. You have to use Universal Codes to obtain it in Animal Crossing. It can be downloaded or hacked in Animal Crossing: Wild World. However, in Animal Crossing: City Folk, it can be easy obtained by shooting down balloons. Each piece of the set has an "8-Bit" appearance and they all sell for 256 Bells because that is the number of colours in an 8-bit palette. The pieces in the Mario Set have no real use. They are just there for looks. However, each piece does something unique.

Each piece interacts differently with the player.

• ? Block: It flashes and makes noises, items can be places on it.
• 1-Up Mushroom: A 1-up sign comes from it when it is pressed and it makes a noise.
• Brick Block: Items can be placed on it.
• Cannon: When pressed it fires a giant bullet that eventually disappears.
• Coin: It flashes and when pressed makes noise.
• Fire Bar: A block that has a rotating bar of fire coming from it, it plays a tune that can be switched on and off.
• Fire Flower: A giant flashing flower thatmakes noise when pressed.
• Green Pipe: A large pipe that a snapping flower slowly emerges up and down from it makes a noise when pressed.
• Koopa shell: It makes a noise when pressed.
• Starman: It flashes and plays a tune that can be turned on or off.
• Super Mushroom: It makes a sound when pressed.
• Flag Poll: The flag falls when pressed.
