Mother's Day is an event that takes place during different time of May depending on your region. On this day you can receive a special gift from your mother via mail.

Animal Crossing

In this game, Pelly will announce that it is Mother's Day! Your mom will send you a letter telling you that it's her day and nobody else's. All of your characters in town will express what day it is. If you go see Tortimer near the Wishing Well, then he will give you a Lovely Phone, which is a part of the Lovely Series, as a gift. He says the point of him giving it to you is to make sure that you remember to call your dear old mother once in a while. When you place the phone in your room, you can hear a voice coming out of it.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Mother's Day was absent in Animal Crossing: Wild World, even though you received letters from your mother throughout the year that had presents attached.

Animal Crossing: City Folk

In Animal Crossing: City Folk, you will receive a letter from your mother via mail. Pelly will not announce that it is Mother's Day, instead leaving you to find out yourself. Inside of the letter attached as a gift will be a new flower only obtainable on this day called the pink carnation. You can put this flower next to a red carnation, which you get on Father's Day, and create a white carnation hybrid. Fore more information on making hybrids, see flowers. Your villagers will not mention Mother's Day and instead they will carry on with their normal conversations and routines.
