Nan (Japanese name: スミ, Sumi) is a Normal Goat Villager who made her very first appearance in Animal Forest e+, she has made reappearances in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Nan is a curious and optimistic individual with a distinct savviness for fashion, yet she keeps this skill low-key in comparison to Snooty Villagers. She rarely ever comes off as rough or abrupt to others in conversation or during casual meetings, commonly handing genuine comments to everyone she sees and making the best of any situation. This is not to say that Nan has her own personal faults, as well. She can prove to be a rather prominent cleanliness buff, obsessing over personal hygiene and disinfecting her home on a regular basis. Yet this resident still provides an admirable amount of kindness and hospitality whenever the Player stops by for a visit(so long as you behave yourself!).

Nan is a very dark grey goat with small, orange-yellow horns on her head, a small patch of brown hair inbetween her horns, pink ears, and beady little black eyes with a tint of purity to them. She has groups of three peach-pink freckles on both of her cheeks and a small, modest mouth at the bottom of her face permanently fixed in a soft, content smile.

"Nan" is short for the term, "nanny", the official term that is meant to identify a female goat, which this particular Villager just happens to be.
