Nate (Japanese name: バッカス, Bacchus) is a lazy, male bear from Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: City Folk. Nate is an all orange bear with a confused look on his face. His eyes are small and black and he has a large, green monobrow. His face also has three small freckles on each side. His ears are small with pink inside.
Nate is lazy, and like a lot of lazy villagers, Nate is absolutely in love with food. He loves to talk about and will often ask you if you have any on you. His dream foods are tuna tartare and sashimi. Nate is usually in a good mood and will be happy to carry a conversation with you. If angered, Nate will usually need a few minutes to cool down, but after that he is calm, cool and collected all over again. Nate's hobbies are staying inside sitting on his couch and watching TV, and the occasional furniture hunting. Cranky villagers enjoy his relaxed and calm nature which mixes with their personality finding him delightful.
Nate's house is very empty. It really reflects his lazy personality, especially because there is a hammock for him to lounge on right in the middle of the room. Here are the items that his house contains:

There is no evidence of any special naming for Nate that we known from the game context, so it is assumed that Nate was a random male name that was chosen to give to this particular villager.
- Nate often gets up very early in the morning. This influenced what his catchphrase would be.
