Nook Points

Tom Nook keeps his customers coming back by rewarding them with Nook Points every time they purchase an item from any of his stores. These points apply to each character separately and not as a team effort for everyone in town. These are only available in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: Wild World. Although they differ a bit, they are essentially the same thing.

[edit] How many points am I rewarded?

Each time that you buy an item from the store or order it from your catalog, you will be rewarded with Nook Points. For every 100 Bells that you spend in Tom Nook's store, you will receive 1 Nook Point. So if you buy an item that is worth 500 Bells, then you will be rewarded 5 Nook Points. Items that you sell to Nook do not count and you will not receive points for them.

[edit] Nook Point Tracking System

Tom Nook Point System in the corner of the store.

The Nook Point Tracking System is a machine that will be located in whichever store that you have. It is very useful and has many functions such as:

  • How many total points a character has.
    • How many points a character has gained overall.
    • How many points a character has spent.

The Nook Point Tracking System (NPTS) can also give you free points as well. Every day that you visit Tom Nook's store, you can click on the machine and choose "Visitor Points" and it will automatically reward Tom Nook Points. You get 3 free points if you are in your own town. If you are visiting a friend's town and you use the NPTS machine, it will reward you 5 free points.

[edit] 5x Point Special

During this special event, Tom Nook will be offering five times the Tom Nook Points for every 100 Bells that you spend than the usual 1 point. This event will last all day until the store closes. The 5x Point Special will happen on a random day, however, you will know when it is happening because it will be posted on the bulletin board near the Town Hall.

[edit] Membership Ranks

As you gain more and more Tom Nook Points, you will also achieve highers ranks once you obtain a certain amount of points. There is a total of four membership ranks. Each time you upgrade, you will be notified. The Tom Nook Points System will send you a letter in the mail with a gift attached for your patronage.

Each time you receive a higher rank you will get a discount. Each time you get a discount, it does not add on to the previous one. Each time you do upgrade you get a 5% discount added to your current one. Discounted items do not get the same amount of Nook Points that they would if they were bought at a regular price.
