In all of the Animal Crossing games, Pete the pelican is the mailman. All though he has slightly different roles, he has never stopped being the town's faithful and beloved mailman.

Animal Crossing

In the original Animal Crossing, Pete he will deliver the mail if you send Pelly/Phyllis more than five letters in one mail drop-off. At 9:00am or 5:00pm, Pete will come flying down towards your house and deliver your mail. You can greet him and he will deny being with Pelly and tell you that she is too much of a child. Afterward, he says he is busy and must get back to work.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Through rain, sleet, or snow, Pete the pelican can occasionally be seen flying high above your town, faithfully delivering your mail. Watch your top screen and listen for a strange sound to tip you off that this hardworking public servant is making his mail rounds. Get out your slingshot and shoot at him! When you knock him down, you can talk to him.

Animal Crossing: City Folk

The mail business might be slowing down in the real world, but in Animal Crossing, it is booming! Pete is once again your local mail carrier, and he makes his round at 9:00am and 5:00pm every day. You might run into him while he's on his mail route. Pete doesn't have anything special to hand out, but he's always happy to speak to someone who isn't complaining about their mail! He will also be the one that delivers all of your DLC.

Pete, Pelly, and Phyllis are all in a love triangle.
