Ribbot (Japanese name: ガチャ, Gacha) is a Jock Frog Villager. He is a rare type of villager who resembles a robot version of the species of animal he belongs to.

[edit] Personality

Due to his Jock personality, Ribbot will constantly obsess over physical activity and rigorous tasks(which should be considered a breeze given his robotic overlay), which naturally makes Fossil-Hunting his favourite preset hobby. He can be seen as fairly overbearing and condescending at times, usually criticizing other villagers who don't share the same passions as he does, such as Lazy and Cranky ones. Regardless of being a seemingly-flawless calculating machine, his Jock preset weighs on his overall intelligence and can cause him to appear rather slow in public eye. He creates a real easy-going buddy relationship with the Player, usually taking him up on fitness regiments or sports outings. As for compatible villagers, the Peppy residents are the only ones who come close due to all of the carefree energy they exert on a daily basis. On the other hand, the slow-moving lifestyles of both Lazy and Cranky villagers confound Ribbot to no end, and he typically shuts them out completely.

[edit] Appearance

As one of the only robot Frogs currently featured in the Animal Crossing franchise, Ribbot obviously takes on the appearance of your average mechanized being, with clashing tones of light and dark grey paired with bolt marks dotted across his face along with weld line patterns throughout. His eyes are a solid yellow and he has a patch of blue with a red outline running down the middle of his face.

[edit] Name Meaning

Ribbot is a play on the sound that Frogs typically make, which is popularly pronouned "ribbit". To coincide with the whole robotic theme, "Ribbot" was cleverly put together which merges both this sound effect and the term "robot".
