[edit] How to Catch
This bug will be hanging from a thread in fruitless trees, including cedars. The hard part of catching this bug is actually finding it in a tree. If you have a lot of trees, this can be a daunting task. Once you find it, the rest is easy because the spider will not move from the tree even if you walk right in front of it. Just equip your net and swing it, catching the spider.
[edit] Player
This is what you player says when you catch a spider:
[edit] Animal Crossing
"Whoa! I caught a spider! I bet some fly is gonna rest easy tonight!"
[edit] Animal Forest e+
"うわっ! クモだ-! ムシの てんてき!"
[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World
"I caught a spider! You're in MY web now!"
[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk
"I caught a spider! Look at all those eyes!"
[edit] Menu
This is what the menu will say when you catch a spider:
[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World
They have eight legs. Their heads and chests are connected. Baby spiders can spin thread to fly.
[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk
Spiders in the house will eat flies and other pests...but they are still gross.
[edit] Museum
If you donate this bug to the Museum, Blathers will say this:
[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World
"I can think of nothing more repugnant than becoming entangled in a spider's web! After thrashing about, you think you got it all off, but no, indeed! A little tickle on your neck and you thrash anew! Blech! Such foulness... Hoo... But I digress..."
[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk
"Horrors! My apologies, but I get rather jumpy around fast, multi-legged critters like this one, eh wot? Even worse is the fact that spiders have eight eyes! Even when it looks away, it can see our every move! I've heard some people worship the spider... And I've also heard that you will not find me in those places."
[edit] Trivia
- The spider is about 25 millimeters long.
[edit] Real Life
This spider is also known as the barn spider. It is an orb weaver and it takes down and builds its own web every single day. It is nocturnal and its main colors are black and yellow. These spiders are nocturnal and aggressive towards each other and humans. They hunt by waiting in the shadows at night and waiting for an insect to land on their web.
