[edit] Player

This is what your player says when you catch a Violin Beetle:

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

I caught a violin beetle! And the world's tiniest violin plays a sad song.

[edit] Menu

Whilst looking at the Violin Beetle in the menu, it will contain this:

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

These resemble violins--hence the name. They are so thin, they fit in wood gaps.

[edit] Museum

If you donate this bug to the Museum, Blathers will say this:

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

I've heard this bug got is name because its body resembles a violin... I'm not so sure though. All slick and black and shiny... If you were to ask me, it looks rather more like an awful locust...

[edit] Real Life

The violin beetle does to some extent resemble a violin and are usually brown with long legs.
