Jellyfish are small fish that populate your ocean's waters throughout the day. Be sure not to be stung!

[edit] Players

This is what your character will say when you catch a Jellyfish

[edit] Animal Forest

"クラゲを っりあげた! もう、なっも おわりだな・・・"

[edit] Animal Crossing

"I caught a jellyfish! I wonder how it would taste on some toast..."

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

"I caught a jellyfish! I'm in some kind of jam!"

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

"I caught a jellyfish! Now all I need is a peanut-butter fish."

[edit] Menu

This is what the menu will say when you catch this fish:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

"These plankton have a vicious sting!"

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

"Watch out for the second sting of this type of plankton!"

[edit] Museum

This is what Blathers will say when you donate this fish:

[edit] Animal Crossing

"Jellyfish and other gelatinous creatures are some of the ocean's most beautiful animal life. Some of them do pack a painful sting, but you'll be fine if you observe them from a respectful distance. Now then, let's get this one squared away in its new home, eh wot?"

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

"You can actually find these in restaurants, though which ones I do not know. Jellyfish can grow to be almost three feet long, did you know that?! That crunchy texture... It takes rather an open mind to enjoy, eh wot?"

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

"...Hoo, are you aware that the jellyfish is completely without bones? There's a legend that says the jellyfish had bones long ago, but they were taken away by a sea deity. ...Yes, the reason was that the jellyfish was quite the gossip and was eventually punished for it... Getting boneless... Rather a stiff punishment, eh wot?"

[edit] Trivia

  • Jellyfish don't actually swim, like fish do with fins. Instead, these creatures use their head-like structure to suck water in and then out, propelling them in a forward direction.

[edit] Real Life

Jellyfish populate every ocean, in just about every depth of the world. Their beautiful colors and swim pattern are viewed as a scenic sight, but they hold an incredible amount of electricity on their tentacles that dangle beneath them. A touch to this can shock you with a large amount of electricity.

Jellyfish aren't actual fish, and the word Jellyfish is considered a mosnomer. Jellyfish was simply the name given to it after being called "jellies" for a period of time.
