The Rainbow Stag is one of various rare beetles which made it’s debut in Animal Crossing: Wild World and continued on in Animal Crossing: City Folk. It’s one of the highest selling beetles in Animal Crossing history.

[edit] How to Catch

The Rainbow Stag, like all of it’s beetle brothers, can be found(if you’re quite lucky)holding onto the side of trees with most ease. As they are one of the highest-selling beetles known, they are seldom stumbled upon and can be frightened away easier than common, cheaply-selling beetles.

[edit] Player

This is what your player says when you catch a Rainbow Stag:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

I caught a rainbow stag! The seven colors are so bright, I better put on some shades!

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

I caught a rainbow stag! Someone tell me, already! Where's the rainbow?!

[edit] Menu

When looking at the Rainbow Stag in the bug menu it will say this:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

Known as the most beautiful beetle, they are also very hearty and have long lives. They're easy to breed, so they make good pets.

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

Said to be the most beautiful type of beetle, they are sturdier than they look.

[edit] Museum

If you donate this bug to the Museum, Blathers will say this:

[edit] Animal Crossing: Wild World

[edit] Animal Crossing: City Folk

Rainbow stags have the honor of being called the world's most beautiful stag beetles, eh wot? Even the insect's belly has this rainbow design. making it one of the less vile bugs I've encountered. In fact, this may be the only insect whose underside I can view without retching...

[edit] Real Life

This beetle’s unique colour scheme is where the Rainbow Stag received it’s name. It’s native to the country of Australia. It is so strong that through use of it’s mandibles, it has the ability to actually pick up and throw other beetles around it’s equal size.
