Tom (Japanese name: ヒャクパー, Hyakupa) is a Cranky Cat Villager who made his very first appearance in Animal Forest e+ and then later went on to appear in both Animal Crossing (GCN) and Animal Crossing: City Folk later on down the road.

[edit] Personality

Despite being Cranky, Tom is actually quite mature and collected than most would come to expect. This doesn't exactly ring positive though, as his mature outlook will cause him to act very rude and belittling to anyone else he meets whom he assumes isn't up to his intellectual level. As with all Cranky Villagers, Tom eventually sheds enough of this bad social habit in order to make somewhat awkward friends with the Player, constantly talking behind other residents' backs to you. He mostly partakes in Fishing as opposed to the other two usual hobbies for the fact that it provides him with much genuine relaxation time. Tom hates to socialize with Peppy Villagers, despising their annoyingly cheerful attitudes and insufferable optimism, while the aloof pessimism of Snooty Villagers rubs him just the right way.

[edit] Appearance

Tom is a solid blue-coloured cat with large, pink ears and large, yellow, sideways leaf-shaped eyes with giant black pupils. His entire mouth region(as well as the space between his eyes)is coloured white. For a mouth, he has a twisted, very feline-esque smirk. His arms, legs, and tail are solid blue while the tips are white.

[edit] Name Meaning

"Tom" is a likely reference to a male cat which are called, Tomcat or Tommie cat. Taking the "Tom" from the word turns it into a common name.
